Getting to Montanita
How to get to Montañita from Ecuador: Guayaquil, Quito, Airports.
Montañita is located on the peninsula of Santa Elena, on Route Spondylus (formerly Ruta del sol), 180 km from Guayaquil. By bus we are 1 hour and a half of Liberty-Salinas and 3 hours from Guayaquil.
From Ecuador:
- From Quito: direct bus to Santa Elena, Guayaquil, Puerto Lopez or Portoviejo. (Frequency buses every half hour). From there direct bus to Montañita.
- From Guayaquil: Direct bus from the terminal, company CLP (U $ S 6) (at the following times-5: 45 AM, 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM), or go to Freedom (US $ 3) (frequency of buses every 15 minutes) and then bus to Montañita (U $ S 1.75).
You can also take a taxi from the airport that cost us about $ 80. - From Puerto Lopez: take bus to go to Liberty. Get off at Montañita (U $ S 3 approx.)
- From Freedom: bus route to the Sun Road. (U $ S 1.75).
- From Manta: bus that goes to Puerto Lopez and south of the Spondylus route.
- By plane: We can also take the flight Quito-Guayaquil at a price of around $ 70-90 (frequency 30-45 minutes), or, even more convenient Quito Salinas (often three days a week) and from there bus or private taxi.
