From Colombia - Ecuador border
The journey from the Colombian border to Montañita is fast and quiet. Find the best option according to your time in Ecuador and requirements.
Getting to Montanita from the border of Colombia is easy, the important thing is to arrive in Quito first instance; from there we can go to Santa Elena, Guayaquil and Puerto Lopez.
This border is very quiet and safe. Must present a passport in the Colombian side migrations to make the appropriate arrangements to leave the country and then to 200m can cross the bridge and go towards migration in the Ecuadorian part and make the necessary formalities to enter the country.
From the border we go to Tulcan (a bus stop) so we have to take a (single or shared) taxi or a van / van (cheaper).
Once you arrive at a bus station, you can take a bus to Quito or Guayaquil; if you are going to to take off you can take a direct bus to Santa Elena in the carrier called Trans Esmeraldas, Santa Elena then take a direct bus to Montañita. If arrival is done Guayquil in the bus terminal we can find a transportation company called CLP where a direct route becomes Montanita.
